Pencil sketch is a beautiful effect used on pictures to give them the ‘pencil sketch’ like appearance. Here in this tutorial we would give you a simple step by step procedure to implement this in your pictures using PhotoShop photo editor:
.Choose a high resolution image that you wish to implement pencil sketch on and open it in Adobe PhotoShop program.
.The first step would be to convert the Layer into a Smart Object so that you may later apply Smart Filters which can be easily readjusted later. You can do this by: Layer -> Smart Objects ->Convert to Smart Objects.
.Duplicate the layer thrice and name from top to bottom as Outline, Left Diagonal Strokes and Right Diagonal Strokes respectively. Hide the first two layers and select the Right Diagonal Strokes layer.
.Go to Filter -> Filter Gallery and under the Sketch Folder, select the Graphic Pen Filter. Now select the stroke direction to ‘Right Diagonal’. After selecting the Stroke Length and Light/Dark balance, Click OK.
.Unhide the Left Diagonal Stroke Layer and repeat Step 4 but with a slight modification of Stroke Direction to ‘Left Diagonal’.
.In the Layers Palette, change the opacity of the Left Diagonal Strokes Layer to 50%.
.Selecting the ‘Outline layer’, go to Filter -> Stylize -> Find Edges. Change the Blending mode to Multiply.
.Go to Layers -> New Adjustment Layer. Now you can adjust the various metrics to get the desired effect.
This would give you a black and white pencil sketch of your chosen image. For a more professional photo manipulation service, call Edit Picture Online at +8801719537896 or drop an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
